iBride Hoppoe trays (pronounced "e-breed") are created by a French family in the south of France. The word iBride itself means 'hybrid' - the pieces combine a dual purpose of serving as sturdy functional trays, but more often are used as decorative wall hangings. The turn-of-the-century construction process uses a high-pressure laminate with a pre-recycled wood core which is then laser cut to produce this work of art.
This tray shows a Hoopoe, a bird native to Europe, Asia, and Africa, looking out through tree blossoms. The inset image shows an actual Hoopoe in the wild.
